- The NFL reinstated Josh Gordon, but the Cleveland Browns suspended him for the first four games of the season.
- The Chicago White Sox and Chance the Rapper announced their first ever joint music festival, Magnificent Coloring Day! The lineup includes Chance the Rapper, John Legend, Tyler the Creator, 2 Chainz, Lil Uzi Vert, Skrillex, Alicia Keys, Young Thug, Lil Wayne and "a very special guest."
